Meet the Team

Jennifer is a Licensed Intervention Specialist and Certified Academic Language Practitioner.

Jennifer’s mission is to guide her students in discovering a deep understanding of the English language in an emotionally responsive learning environment, while helping them achieve their full potential.

Prior to launching Alliance Intervention Services, Jennifer earned her Bachelor’s Degree from The Ohio State University and worked in human resources, a natural extension of her desire to improve the lives of all people. A growing awareness of the country’s dismal reading achievement statistics turned the focus of her career to improving literacy outcomes. Jennifer pursued a Master’s Degree in Special Education from the University of North Dakota, and studied with the Children’s Dyslexia Center of Columbus, engaging in an in-depth course of study that included over 100 hours of supervised practicum experience. Jennifer is a licensed Intervention Specialist (K-12), and an ALTA Certified Academic Language Practitioner.

Jennifer builds bridges with students, parents, teachers and district stakeholders, to unite teams for student success. Her decade-long commitment to professional development guarantees that her students are provided with instruction inclusive of the most current discoveries in reading science.

  • Mrs. G has been an educator for over 13 years and has completed comprehensive training in LETRS, The Writing Revolution 2.0, and the Hochman Method®. She is also an AET-qualified Educational Therapist, specializing in working with students facing learning differences, executive function challenges, cognitive delays, and social-emotional difficulties.

    Her transformative approach to teaching writing applies to all grade levels and subject areas. Easily integrated into existing curricula, her Writing Revolution experience provides students with instruction using targeted strategies and activities that elevate their writing and empower struggling writers to become confident communicators.

    The methodology is explicit, carefully sequenced instruction, building from sentences to compositions. The Hochman Method is not a separate writing curriculum but rather an approach designed to be adapted to and embedded in the content taught in any subject area and grade level.

    Students working with Mrs. G receive targeted feedback on their writing to strengthen their organizational skills, enrich their oral language, and foster analytical thinking. Beyond writing, her approach targets foundational academic skills, executive functioning, and strategies that empower students to build confidence and independence.

    Mrs. G lives in Ohio with her husband and two boys. In her free time, she enjoys reading and thrifting.

  • Emma is a Certified Academic Language Practitioner (CALP), and Licensed Teacher with comprehensive training in structured literacy, an evidence-based instructional approach to reading intervention.

    Emma’s mission is to show empathy, kindness, and care to each student as she teaches them all components of literacy with fidelity. Emma desires to build her students’ confidence by patiently guiding them in a diagnostic-based series of lessons to meet their specific needs.

    Emma graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. Emma had the honor of teaching Kindergarten at Cypress Christian Schools for five years before joining Alliance Intervention Services. She is thrilled to move into a position with a focus on literacy learning, as she has a deep passion for teaching reading, writing, phonics, and all things language-related. Emma completed an in-depth course of study with the Children’s Dyslexia Center of Columbus, including over 100 hours of supervised practicum experience, and is a Certified Academic Language Practitioner. Her training reflects a strong commitment to evidence-based dyslexia intervention.

    In the evenings, you can find Emma meeting up with friends, reading a good cozy mystery novel, or watching a favorite show with her husband. On the weekends, she can be found leading worship at her church, enjoying long drives with her husband, and resting with her two Golden Retrievers!

  • Megan is a Licensed Teacher and Certified Dyslexia Practitioner with experience teaching students reading and writing, both in-person and online, using an evidence-based instructional approach.

    Megan strives to reach her students, no matter where they are, so that they can grow in their reading journey.

    Megan graduated from Capital University with a Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education with an additional major in Spanish. In addition to working for Alliance Intervention Services, Megan works part-time at a small private school, Cypress Christian, in reading intervention. She has also been teaching online for many years. Megan works with students as young as kindergarten age up to middle school to help with reading, writing, and vocabulary acquisition. Megan studied at the Children’s Dyslexia Center of Columbus to earn her Certified Dyslexia Practitioner credentials. 

    Megan completed comprehensive training through the Children’s Dyslexia Center of Columbus, including over 100 hours of supervised practicum instruction, and is a Certified Academic Language Practitioner. Her preparation demonstrates a deep dedication to structured, evidence-based literacy intervention for students with dyslexia and related language-based learning differences.

    In her free time, Megan enjoys curling up with a good book, spending quality time with her husband, and taking long walks with her dog, Indy.

  • Chuck is an Indie Teacher based in Columbus, Ohio and is part of the Alliance Intervention Services Team.

    Chuck’s mission is to work with students one-on-one to tutor them in traditional school subjects, and he also works with professionals interested in improving their skills

    Being an Indie Teacher means he’s flexible and often works with students 1-on-1 to tutor them in traditional school subjects like math, physics, statistics, and neuroscience. Chuck also works with professionals who are interested in improving their skills. Chuck hold a PhD in neuroscience from the University of Texas, alongside degrees in physics and neuroscience from Tulane University. He has been tutoring all of his life, with 12 years of tutoring full time. In Chuck’s free time, he enjoys movies, camping, Argentine tango, and contributing to Wikipedia.

  • Jericho is a Certified Academic Language Practitioner (CALP) and graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education.

    She is a licensed teacher, working for almost twenty years in Columbus Public and Columbus Catholic schools. She has taught Kindergarten, First, and Third grades, while also taking on roles in curriculum planning and intervention. Jericho is thrilled to transition into a position focused on structured literacy and multisensory math delivered one-on-one.

    Jericho's years of experience with structured literacy include delivering Fundations instruction to emerging and struggling readers. Fundations, a multi-sensory, structured literacy program, focuses on foundational reading and spelling skills and is designed to serve as a Tier 1 and Tier 2 early intervention for learners in need of more intensive instruction. The program emphasizes systematic and sequential instruction in phonics, spelling, and handwriting, using engaging, multi-sensory techniques.

    Her son, Jude, had the privilege of working with Jennifer during the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 school years before moving on to Marburn Academy. Jericho completed in-depth course work at the Children’s Dyslexia Center of Columbus, including over 100 hours of supervised practicum experience.

    In addition, Jericho completed the NOBIDA Multisensory Math coursework under the guidance of Marilyn Zecher, M.A., CALT, who specializes in O-G Multisensory Strategies for teaching math, study skills, reading, language, Spanish, and content area subjects.

    Outside of her professional commitments, you can find Jericho running her son and daughter to their various activities, making dinner, practicing yoga, reading, walking, and hiking.

  • Carly is a Licensed Teacher with comprehensive training in structured literacy, an evidence-based instructional approach to reading intervention.

    Carly’s mission is to reach every student, no matter the circumstances. Carly strives to create an open, comfortable, and accepting learning environment for all students. She is committed to helping students access information and learn through engaging lessons and research-based practices.

    Carly earned her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from The Ohio State University and brings teaching experience from both South-Western City Schools and Hilliard City Schools.

    She specializes in reading and literacy instruction, working with students who need extra support building foundational skills or overcoming reading challenges. Carly is Orton-Gillingham certified and has completed intensive training through the Children’s Dyslexia Center of Columbus, including over 100 hours of supervised practicum experience. She uses structured, research-based methods to help students improve their reading skills, gain confidence, and experience success.

    Carly understands how important it is for families to feel supported throughout their child’s learning journey. She is dedicated to creating a positive, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable and motivated to grow.

    Outside of her work, Carly enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and dog, going on walks, and cheering on her favorite Ohio State and Cleveland sports teams.

  • Sophia is a dedicated and licensed Intervention Specialist for grades K-12, bringing four years of valuable teaching experience in Catholic schools.

    She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Special Education from the University of Dayton and is Orton-Gillingham trained through the Children’s Dyslexia Center, an institution accredited by the International Multisensory Structured Language Education Council (IMSLEC). Sophia has a deep passion for teaching literacy and math skills to students in grades K-4. She finds immense joy in witnessing her students grow and thrive in school through the skills and tools they acquire.

    Sophia successfully completed an intensive course of study with the Children’s Dyslexia Center of Columbus, which included more than 100 hours of supervised practicum experience, and holds certification as a Certified Academic Language Practitioner. Her training underscores her strong foundation in research-aligned, multisensory dyslexia intervention and her commitment to delivering high-quality, evidence-based instruction.

    Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Sophia now lives in Grove City with her husband and their puppy, Kip. In her free time, she cherishes moments spent with friends and family. She also enjoys reading, traveling, watching shows, and embracing the outdoors.

  • Kathryn is a dedicated Reading Specialist with experience helping students develop strong foundational literacy skills, with a particular focus on phonics.

    Before joining Alliance Intervention Services, Kathryn earned her Reading Endorsement from The Ohio State University in Education and has over 5 years of teaching experience in diverse classroom settings.

    Kathryn is passionate about empowering young learners to become confident and proficient readers and fostering literacy development in students through evidence-based strategies, differentiated instruction, and a deep understanding of reading processes. She is skilled in supporting struggling readers and promoting lifelong literacy skills for all learners.

    Throughout Kathyn’s career, she has worked with students of various ages and learning abilities, using research-based strategies to foster a love of reading. She believes that a solid foundation in phonics is crucial for reading success and is skilled in providing individualized instruction that meets the unique needs of each student. Kathryn completed comprehensive training at the Children's Dyslexia Center of Columbus, which included more than 100 hours of supervised practicum experience.

    In her free time, she reads books (particularly any mystery novel she can get her hands on!). She also likes to spend time with her husband and two children.

  • Christy has spent the last 13 years working for the Upper Arlington City School District and currently works at Tremont Elementary in the Media Center.

    Christy is excited to join the team at Alliance Intervention Services and looks forward to supporting the team and families with all their administrative needs.

    Christy loves being part of the school community and helping students and staff each day.

    In her free time, Christy enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, who are both in college. She also enjoys traveling and reading whenever she gets the chance.

  • Holly Hamed, M.S., CCC-SLP is a Speech-Language Pathologist with 18 years of experience helping children and adolescents grow as confident, effective communicators.

    She has worked in both school settings and telehealth, supporting students from preschool through 12th grade addressing a wide range of speech sound and language needs.

    Holly earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Speech-Language Pathology from Clarion University of Pennsylvania. She is dedicated to creating a supportive, encouraging environment where every student feels capable and understood. Her goal is to help each learner build communication skills that support their academic success and everyday life.

    Outside of work, Holly loves spending time with her husband, their two sons, and their two dogs. She enjoys reading, relaxing with her family, and finding the small moments of joy in everyday life.

  • Christina's mission: help every student become a confident, successful reader. With more than 20 years of teaching experience in the Cincinnati area, she is dedicated to providing individualized, evidence-based instruction that helps students build strong literacy foundations and reach their full potential.

    Christina holds a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and a Master's Degree in Literacy Education from the University of Cincinnati. She also holds a Reading Endorsement and a Gifted Intervention Specialist Endorsement. As a Reading Specialist with Oak Hills Local School District, she provides targeted reading intervention grounded in the Science of Reading and specializes in explicit, systematic phonics instruction.

    Throughout her career, Christina has worked with students of diverse abilities and learning needs, using assessment-driven instruction and research-based practices to support literacy growth. She is passionate about helping struggling readers develop the skills and confidence they need to thrive both in and out of the classroom.

    Outside of work, Christina enjoys baking sourdough bread, and spending time with her husband and three children. You'll often find her cheering on her kids at sporting events or reading.

  • Krista Andriacco, MHS, OTR/L is a pediatric occupational therapist with more than 23 years of experience helping children develop the skills they need to thrive at home, in school, and in their communities.

    Krista believes that connection comes before progress. Building trusting relationships with children and their families is at the heart of her approach, creating a foundation where children feel safe, confident, and ready to learn.

    Krista earned her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from Xavier University and later completed a Master of Health Science degree at the University of Indianapolis. She began her career in a private sensory integration clinic and currently serves students in an elementary school setting in the Cincinnati area. Throughout her career, she has worked with children from infancy through high school, giving her a broad understanding of childhood development and the unique strengths and challenges children may experience along the way.

    She has a special passion for working with children on the autism spectrum and helping families discover strategies that foster participation, independence, and success in everyday life. Her areas of expertise include childhood development, handwriting, sensory strategies and accommodations, bilateral coordination, motor planning, hand strength, and fine motor development.

    Krista is dedicated to providing individualized, evidence-based support that helps children build confidence, independence, and participation in everyday activities. She truly loves what she does and feels honored to be part of each child's journey toward reaching their full potential.

  • Jen is an Orton-Gillingham certified practitioner and lifelong educator with more than twenty years of classroom experience.

    Jen's mission is to help every student become a confident, independent thinker. She believes there is always a better way to reach the learner in front of her, and she draws on deep training, real data, and genuine empathy to find it.

    Jen completed her Orton-Gillingham practitioner certification through the Children's Dyslexia Center, building on two decades as an educator. She also brings training in LETRS, SPIRE, and Fundations, along with 45 hours of math methodology instruction focused on building strong foundations early. Jen holds a Master of Education and an Early Childhood Generalist Endorsement from The Ohio State University, a Technology Integration Endorsement from Ashland University, and Bachelor's degrees in English, German, and Women's Studies, also from Ohio State.

    Jen's teaching career began in early intervention at the Child Development Council of Franklin County, working with at-risk preschoolers, English Language Learners, and children with special needs. Since 2009 she has taught at Grandview Heights City School District, where she earned an Accomplished rating on the Ohio Teacher Evaluation System and delivered targeted Tier 2 reading interventions in co-taught inclusion classrooms. Structured literacy is the foundation of her work, but data is her passion: she analyzes student progress closely because she wants real evidence that her instruction is working. As the parent of neurodivergent children, Jen brings deep empathy and a genuine understanding of how families experience the learning journey.

    A committed lifelong learner, Jen is always studying something new, whether a fresh instructional approach or a new language (Spanish is next!). Outside of tutoring, she loves to travel, garden, hike, and read. She has lived in Germany twice and explored Europe and the United States on a budget, often with a tent, always seeking out the places off the beaten path. She believes budget travel and good fiction teach the same quiet lessons: patience, curiosity, and empathy for lives very different from your own. When she is not teaching or traveling, you will usually find Jen in the garden, reading poetry, or deep in one long, real conversation, because she would always rather go deep with a few people than wide with many.

  • Karen's mission is simple: help every learner reach their fullest potential. With 24 years of teaching experience in the Cincinnati area, she brings a deep commitment to responsive, individualized instruction that meets each student exactly where they are.

    Karen holds a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from Muskingum University and a Master's degree in Reading and Literacy from Ball State University. She obtained her Intervention Specialist licensure through Miami University and has pursued advanced specialized training, including Orton-Gillingham certification through IMSE and Structured Literacy training through Top 10 Tools. This breadth of training equips her to support a wide range of learners with skill, intention, and care.

    Outside of the classroom, Karen is a proud wife and mom to three sons. You'll often find her cheering them on at sporting events or planning the family's next travel adventure.

  • Amanda is a Licensed Teacher and a Certified Academic Language Practitioner (CALP).

    She graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and a Master’s Degree in Reading Education.

    Amanda has ten years of teaching experience, including kindergarten and first grade. She is now a Reading Specialist at a middle school, working with students in 4th through 8th grade. Amanda is passionate about structured literacy and is motivated by her students' success. 

    Amanda is a member of both a book club and a supper club, which allows her to share her love of reading and good food with friends. She enjoys playing pickleball and spending time with her family, especially her niece and nephew. Amanda loves her dog, Mabel, going to concerts, and traveling. Her favorite place to visit is Paris and she is currently learning French.
