Our Services

Structured Literacy/OG Tutoring

Your student’s literacy achievement drives our passion, evidence-based instructional practices guide our instruction. Through engaging, interactive lessons, each student feels supported through their challenges and celebrated for their achievements!

We offer reading intervention services for students in grades K-12, in a virtual 1:1 setting.

Struggling readers will benefit from personalized lessons, delivered with fidelity that address the foundational skills of phonological awareness, phonics, as well as spelling, morphology, fluency and reading comprehension. Our trained and certified reading specialists utilize the proven instructional practices of the Orton-Gillingham approach; which are explicit, systematic and sequential. Our interactive lessons maximize student engagement and increase learning outcomes.

Our tutors build strong connections with each student in virtual 1:1 tutoring sessions. With this flexible support model we are able to reach students in all educational settings at times that prioritize each student’s unique needs.

Your child deserves reading intervention that works!

Writing Tutoring

The Hochman Method(™) is an explicit, thoughtfully sequenced framework for instruction designed to guide students of all grade levels to progress from sentences to compositions. Its evidence-based strategies can be used in all grades and subject areas, allowing teachers to deliver writing instruction with a flexible and personalized approach. Teaching sentence-construction skills has improved reading fluency and comprehension. (Graham and Hebert, 2010) Alliance Intervention Services tutors are proud to offer students writing instruction grounded in the Hochman Method's proven approach.

Math Tutoring

Our personalized approach to math instruction is just like our students: unique and creative.

Our tutors utilize a multisensory math approach to support students' math development from foundational skills to higher-level concepts they encounter in middle and high school.

Speech Therapy

Speech and language therapy at Alliance is provided by Ohio-licensed, ASHA-certified speech-language pathologists who help students grow as confident, effective communicators. All sessions are 1:1, built to complement the way your family already learns. Our therapists take a compassionate approach that starts with a supportive environment where students feel capable and understood, because a student who feels safe communicating is a student who will practice communicating.

Support may include:

  • Articulation and speech sound production

  • Phonological delays and disorders

  • Receptive and expressive language

  • Social and pragmatic language

  • Language skills that underlie reading, writing, and comprehension

  • Communication skills that support classroom participation and daily life

We work with students in grades K through 12. Services are available virtually across Ohio, with limited in-person availability in Columbus, and are covered for eligible students through the Jon Peterson Special Needs and Ohio Autism Scholarships.

When a student feels safe and understood, they are more ready to engage and learn.
